About Explore21 Charts
Explore21 Charts is the analytical half of Explore21. The other half is the block, address, and transaction explorer at explore21.com. Both read from the same self-hosted Bitcoin Core node. Nothing here is bought from a data vendor or proxied through a third-party API. That is the point.
What you’ll find here
Price and valuation
The Bitcoin price back to 2011, plus the metrics built on it: the Mayer Multiple, the 200-week moving average, Realized Price and Realized Cap, the MVRV Ratio and Z-Score, Percent Supply in Profit, and Realized Profit and Loss.
Network health
Mining difficulty, hashrate, block interval, and block size. The plainest read on how hard the network is working and how full its blocks are.
Holder behaviour
HODL Waves: the circulating supply banded by how long each coin has sat still, for a view of who is holding and for how long.
Every chart offers 1M / 3M / 6M / 1Y / 5Y / All timeframes, a log or linear axis on the single-axis charts, and a written explanation of the method on its own page. Browse the full catalog →
Where the data comes from
One node, no vendors
Every on-chain metric is computed from a Bitcoin Core node the project runs. Price history is our own daily record. Because the charts, the explorer, and the newsletter all read from that one source, a number is the same wherever it appears.
Six blocks behind the tip
Calculations never touch the last six blocks, the depth at which a block is treated as safe from a chain reorganisation. A published figure never has to be walked back.
Daily close for price
Price series are daily. When a metric refers to what the market paid for a coin, it means the closing price on the day that coin last moved. Intraday movement is not modelled.
Rebuilt from first principles
The valuation metrics all derive from a single running record: for each day coins were created, how much of that supply is still unspent and what it cost. Nothing is a black box, and the derivation is spelled out on every chart page.
Free and open
No account, no ads
Bitcoin’s ledger is public by design, so a site that reads it should be too. There are no accounts, no subscription tiers, and no ads. Hosting is paid out of pocket. If the charts are useful to you, the donate page helps keep them running.
Reusable data
The data is published under the Creative Commons CC-BY-4.0 licence. Reuse it anywhere, with attribution to Explore21.

Who builds this
Dimitar Zurnov
Software Engineer · Plovdiv, Bulgaria
Explore21 is built and run by Dimitar Zurnov, a software engineer from Plovdiv, Bulgaria. It started as a Bitcoin block explorer and grew a second half: a self-hosted Bitcoin Core node, an ingestion pipeline that rebuilds every on-chain metric from the chain itself, and the time-series charts you are reading now.
No part of it is bought from a data vendor. That constraint is the point: every number can be recomputed from first principles, and a figure on a chart, in the explorer, and in the newsletter is always the same figure.
